Community engagement and support has allowed Wellspring Calgary to become established and ensures the long-term viability and vitality of our centre.  We sincerely thank all those who have offered their support and continue to do so.

To ensure the sustainability of our program, Wellspring Calgary is structured to be self-financing through an endowment fund and the support of others who fundraise on behalf of Wellspring Calgary.

In addition to these financial supports, Wellspring Calgary benefits tremendously by volunteers who perform a variety of supportive roles at the centre.  Through this extensive volunteer base of cancer survivors, we are able to deliver the lowest cost service of the highest quality to those living with cancer.

Extensive use of volunteer support also provides significant value to the volunteers – an opportunity to provide hope, caring and quality service to someone in distress. One of the most important needs expressed by cancer survivors is to be able to use their cancer experience to help others.

Services

Wellspring Calgary offers the following services and supports:

• Peer support volunteers (trained volunteers who are cancer survivors or have been caregivers to a person with cancer) to assist you through your cancer journey, for as long as you need
• Newsletters, books, website and an internet centre to provide up-to-date information
• Support groups - places where everyone understands what you're going through. A place to share your experiences and learn in return
• Recognized supportive strategies such as yoga, tai chi, visualization, and meditation
• Individual support such as Reiki, Therapeutic Touch and Accupressure to promote a sense of wellness and relaxation by working with the body's flow and energy
• Workshops and information sessions which offer practical advice on the day-to-day considerations of living with cancer

All programs are professionally facilitated and designed to offer practical suggestions in a safe confidential environment.
